Marble Construction Ltd win the 10TH APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR AWARD!

Tuesday 15th February 2011 by Stuart

Its official, Marble Construction’s top apprentice, Jamie Manners has been awarded the 10TH APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR AWARD, SOUTHERN REGION by the Federation of Master Builders 2010.

This is such a great personal achievement for Jamie. Everyone at Marble is very proud of his attitude towards his work, his dedication to complete his college apprenticeship and the complete respect he shows our customers and his colleagues.

Jamie completed his NVQ level 2 & level 3 in the same year and achieved very high results by working super hard.

His tutor, Amanda Ash said “I was delighted to hear that Jamie has been nominated for the Apprentice of the year award.  What I first recall from meeting Jamie in his first interview was Jamie’s enthusiasm that he glowed with as he showed real genuine interest in a carpentry job and the apprenticeship program. Unfortunately due to the economic climate, the apprenticeship placements available at the time were hard to come by and therefore Jamie did not undertake his 2nd year apprenticeship. It would be some weeks before I first met Marble Construction Ltd.”

“Marble construction contacted Training Enterprise looking for an apprentice. From our first meeting it became clear that they had a real commitment to training young people and agreed to take on three apprentices. I left the meeting and immediately contacted Jamie to arrange for him to meet the team at Marble construction.”

“Throughout the course Jamie worked hard and I always felt he appreciated the opportunity Marble Construction had given him. Whenever there was a unit test or practical assessment Jamie did his best, he never wanted to let anyone down. I believe Jamie has a real future in construction and fully expect to see him employing his own apprentices in the years to come.”

From everyone at Marble, we would just like to take the opportunity to say congratulations for being the regional winner, a huge thank you for continually working hard for us, and good luck for the National FMB award that takes place at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London on March 11th 2011.
