Not all problems will be this obvious!

The amount of upkeep a house requires depends on a multitude of factors such as it’s location, age, quality of construction and materials used.

It is not uncommon for flat felt roofs to need work doing with ten years of work being undertaken, or for Slate roofs to last over a hundred years.

Using a  high quality construction company who use high quality materials like Marble is a longterm investment as it reduces the cost and effort of maintaining the property.

Maintenance of a house does not have to be a stressful occurrence if problems are spotted and dealt with when they arise as to letting them accumulate and worsen. a poorly maintained property is obvious from the outside as well and can even knock money off it’s value.

Here are some tips for things to check to ensure your home is in good condition:

• Check for missing tiles, cracks, leaky flashing and blocked gutters on top of  roofs and look inside attic spaces for damp, animals nesting and leaks.
• Chimneys should also be checked for damp, and flashing problems, if active check that the chimney is not becoming blocked.
• Examine brickwork for cracking bricks and crumbling flashing. If left alone this can become a serious problem. Long vertical cracks can suggest subsidence. On low level brickwork check for damp.
• Peeling paint on woodwork can expose it to rot and decay, re-paint or varnish woodwork and fences every three or four years.
• Lift drain covers on your property and check that there are no blockages. A good way of testing is to pour food dyes down sinks and toilets and watch for the dye to pass under the uncovered drain.

By surveying 110 estate agents, Mortgage lender GE Money came up with the following top 10 ways of adding value to a property:

Marble Decoration Ltd have already secured a 6 week contract in London but are now looking to expand at a reasonable speed whilst keeping our finishing quality at the highest level. The Marble Decoration website is due to launch on the 16th of March 2011, where you will find many case studies and photos of previous projects Dean has been involved with. Over the last few years, Dean has finished a number of Marble Construction projects from separate bedrooms and hall ways, to full internal and external decoration projects. In-fact, it was because of Dean’s skill and quality that our customers have experienced, it was the driving reason why we decided to start Marble Decoration Ltd.

Above is our new Marble Decoration Logo, for all the Marble Logo’s within the group, we have decided to keep the brand the same but just change the sub-colour to suit the individual company. Stuart Wyeth, Company Director of Marble Decoration Ltd originally was going to use multiple colours for the “M” to show a twist of extravert and pride in our decoration but after a few discussions and countless sketches fom the design team, Dean decided to use electric pink as the company identity. This brave colour completely showed his attitude and pride perfectly when it comes to decoration.

We have big dreams for Marble Decoration Ltd over the next few years. We were thinking about introducing a paint brush prop onto the logo for the first time but when we re-visited this, we decided against it.

Bright colours were being played with and in many styles to create something different compared to our other logos. Pink was never thought about until Gabriel suggested it…

A few landscape designs that were though about but neither really felt like the brand was really strong enough compared to the bright, electric pink we decided to use.

Every month or so Marble Construction like to thank all our members of staff for their extremely hard work and dedication throughout that month. To show our appreciation we regularly organise a fun team building event chosen by the guys.

Whether the event is waterskiing, 5 a side football or paint balling. Marble Construction also invite their sub contractors to these events, mainly to challenge them, but also to thank them for the dedication to our current projects.

This new build property consisted of 28 windows 4 front doors and 4 sets of UPVC French doors. Luke and his 4 man team started the installation at 7am on Good Friday. With the contractor on a tight schedule, we helped in every way we could be finishing in one day.
